Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche stands between the A9 and the A99, the only reminder of the community of Fröttmaning. The church is not easy to find, standing in isolation on a spit of parkland between the two motorways and across from the Allianz Arena.
There is evidence of a church on this site as early as 815, though most of the current structure is built in the Romanesque style and dates from the early 13th century. The church came close to disappearing along with the rest of Fröttmaning when the autobahns in this area were under construction and it was only saved following a public campaign.
Today the church comes under the authority of the parish of St Albert - Freimann.
