This is the interior of the grand neo-Gothic church of St Paul, built between 1892 and 1906 to serve the growing population of Ludwigsvorstadt.
The 97 metre tall tower is open to visitors during Oktoberfest which takes place at the nearby Theresienwiese. In 1960 an USAF aircraft clipped the top of this tower shortly after taking off from Munich Riem and then crashed. 52 people on the plane and on the ground were killed.

Truly a heavenly photo! I love visiting these European cathedrals! Was the organist practicing?
Wow! It is huge! Makes me feel so small... Wonderful capture!
Unfortunately the organist was not playing. His name is Armin Becker and he regularly performs organ concerts. Unfortunately I have yet to hear him perform in this church.
The church is huge but despite its size it is also very bright inside.
