Before Franz Josef Strauß Airport opened in 1992 the city's airport was at Riem in the east of the city. A comprehensive redevelopment plan for the Riem area was drawn up with the new Munich Exhibition Centres and Trade Fair at its core.
The plan also included a new park which was designed by French landscape architect Gilles Vexlard and created between 1997 and 2005. This sculpture stands near the lake. When I first saw it I was reminded of a dandelion ready to shed its seeds. I have been told that it is actually a "multi-directional multi-frequency cubical quad antenna." I'm sticking with my dandelion image.

Great and interesting angle!
Thanks. I saw a picture by a friend of another similar structure taken from this kind of angle so thought I would give it a go too.
