One of the most distinctive elements of the sporting facilities built for the 1972 Olympic Games is the roof.The transparent acrylic glass canopy, designed by German architect Frei Otto, is tensioned with steel cables. Some of these are massive; others, like those pictured here, less so. For those who want a closer look at the structure, a two-hour long roof walk is available. The more adventurous can abseil from the edge of the roof onto the pitch of the Olympic Stadium.

Thanks. There have been so many pictures of the Olympic Stadium it's hard to find a new approach to it. I thought this worked quite well.
