Rose Island, just off the cost of Starnbegersee was a favourite retreat of Ludwig II of Bavaria. The small island has a landscaped park, a villa and a rose garden. Today it is owned by the Bavarian state and a small ferry takes toursits to the island.

I'm wondering what time of day this was taken. The water has an almost pink cast to it suggesting sunrise or sunset. What a silken sea that is.
Well spotted - I don't know how I missed this. Neither sunrise nor sunset, just a screwed up white balance which I have now corrected.
Blue sky, blue sea, and three poles. Three poles are thoughtful.
And a little island, what are you thinking floating ?
Not floating bambi. Standing on the edge of the lake. The little island is only a few metres from the shore though it is possible to take a boat out to it.
