This is the interior of Saint George's church in the Bogenhausen district. It's a small church, built in the 1760's in Baroque style, by Johann Michael Fischer whose churches and monasteries can be found across Bavaria.The main altar visible in this picture is by the sculpor Johann Baptist Straub who often worked with Fischer. Unfortunately it isn't possible to get closer than this because the main body of the church is kept locked.

Rob, the Asam brothers were contemporaries of both Johann Baptist Straub, who created the altar of St George's, and Johann Michael Fischer, who designed the church. However, St George's was built some years after both Asam brothers died.
They often worked on the same churches - most notably the Franciscan St Anna church in Munich's Lehel district to which all four contributed. Fischer designed it; Straub created the high altar; the Asam brothers were responsible for the other altars and the ceiling paintings.
